Facts, Figures and Resources...
Some of our customers want
to know the determining factors in the pricing of
a cue, here they are:
The number of hours it takes to build a cue, the
longer it takes, the higher priced that cue is going
to be.
The number of inlays and design
work in a cue: the more inlays and fancier designs,
the longer it will take, the higher priced it will
be.
Quality of the wood also adds to the price. The longer
the wood is cured, sometimes over 18 months, will
add to the price as well. Curing or seasoning the
wood, stabilizes the moisture in the wood. For the
most part, the longer it cures, the better. 99 percent
of the cues that we carry are Maple. Maple is a good
hardwood. Other woods that are used are Ash and sometimes
exotic woods like Ebony.
Also, the number of a certain kind of cue made is
a factor in determining the cue holding it's value,
this is very true for higher priced cues.
Lastly, the perceived value of a product determines
the value as well. For example: any given cue can
be perceived as being the best, just like a Cadillac
is perceived as being a great car, whereas a Lexus,
etc. might be just as good a choice. It also depends
on a person's perception and from what they have heard
about a cue. The reputation of the cue and the marketing
that has been done will also add to that perception.
That pretty much sums it up! Whichever cue you happen
to choose - Happy Shooting!
